What metals do you use?Updated 2 months ago
We’re committed to using high-quality, hypoallergenic materials that are safe for sensitive ears and support proper healing. Here’s a breakdown of the metals used in our piercing studs:
For Piercing Studs
Device Piercing Studs (used with our hand-pressurized device):
- Stainless Steel
- 24k Gold over Stainless Steel
- 14k Yellow or White Gold
These materials are carefully selected to be safe and gentle during the healing process.
Flat Back Studs (used for needle piercings):
- Front: 14k Yellow or White Gold, Titanium, or 24k Gold over Titanium
- Pin: Stainless Steel
- Back Post: Titanium or 14k Yellow Gold
We only pierce with titanium flat backs because titanium is nickel-free, lightweight, and highly biocompatible—ideal for minimizing irritation and supporting safe healing.
Note: We do not pierce with 14k gold posts, as they can be softer and less stable during healing. You can, however, upgrade to 14k gold posts at your downsizing appointment for $20 per post after your initial healing period.
For Non-Piercing Jewelry
Our everyday earring styles (perfect for healed piercings) come in a variety of elevated materials, including:
- 925 Sterling Silver
- 14k Gold over Sterling Silver
- Gold Vermeil
- 24k PVD over Titanium
- Platinum PVD over Titanium
- 14k Yellow and White Gold
These pieces are great for sensitive ears and are designed to mix, match, and stack with your piercing studs for a custom look you’ll love.
